Job Summary
The Performance Management Assistant Manager – Performance Management will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization’s performance management framework. This role involves working closely with management and employees to establish clear performance expectations, facilitate continuous feedback, and promote a culture of high performance. The manager will ensure that performance management processes align with organizational goals and foster employee growth and development.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive performance management system that aligns with organizational objectives.
- Develop tools and resources, including performance appraisal forms, competency models, and goal-setting frameworks
- Regularly review and update performance management policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure individual goals align with organizational priorities.
- Facilitate goal-setting sessions and workshops to help employees understand performance expectations.
- Manage the annual and mid-year performance appraisal process, ensuring timely and fair assessments.
- Train managers and employees on conducting effective performance reviews.
- Review and analyze performance appraisal data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Promote a culture of continuous feedback and coaching throughout the organization.
- Provide guidance to managers on delivering constructive feedback and recognizing employee achievements.
- Implement tools and techniques to track and document ongoing performance conversations.
- Develop and implement Performance Improvement Plans for underperforming employees.
- Monitor progress on PIPs and provide regular updates to management.
- Support managers in addressing performance issues and making informed decisions regarding employee development or separation.
- Work with HR and leadership to identify high-potential employees and create development plans.
- Assist in the design and delivery of training programs aimed at closing performance gaps.
- Participate in succession planning initiatives to ensure a strong pipeline of talent.
- Analyze performance management data to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Prepare reports on performance trends, appraisal outcomes, and overall effectiveness of the performance management system.
- Use data to drive continuous improvement in performance management practices.
- Ensure that the performance management process complies with legal requirements and organizational policies.
- Keep up to date with changes in employment law and best practices related to performance management.
- Lead change management initiatives related to performance management, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and tools.
- Communicate changes to employees and managers, providing training and support as needed.
- Act as a liaison between employees, managers, and senior leadership on performance- related matters.
- Facilitate meetings and discussions to resolve performance management issues and foster collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on
performance management - Experience in developing and implementing performance management systems
- Strong understanding of performance management principles and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights
- Proficiency in HR software and performance management tools
- Strong leadership and change management skills
